Primary Movement
In Holy Rosary Nursery School, we carry out a programme known as 'Primary Movement' which is incorporated into our daily routine.
Primary Movement is an exercise routine in which children replicate the movements of the foetus in the womb. This triggers the integration of retained primary reflexes, which contribute to behavioural, educational and emotional difficulties. These exercises are done to familiar nursery rhymes and later in the year, we introduce a movement sequence called ‘the arm stretch’ and ‘the sunflower movement’.
